What’s the difference between a Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian and a Latvian girl?
I received such a great response from my last post about corresponding with Russian girls over the Internet, that I inevitably received a ton more questions. This week I’m going to take on a few more. The title of this post, “What’s the difference between a Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian and a Latvian girl?” sounds like the setup to a great joke, but it’s really a serious question for men looking to find a beautiful Eastern European bride. It reminds me of a real joke I heard in Ukraine that plays on the custom of Ukrainians calling every woman devushka — literally “girl”. They do so out of politeness and never ask a woman’s age. The saying goes: “The life of a woman follows this progression: devushka, devushka, devushka, devushka. Yesterday, grandma died.”

So, is a Russian girl different than a girl from Ukraine, or Latvia, or any other former Soviet-bloc country for that matter? Of course. But she is also different than other girls in her age group, in her city, or at her job. Think about it this way: is a man from Alabama different from a man from California, or a Canadian from a New Zealander? As long as we’re really speaking about women and matters of the heart, we’ll quickly see that individual personalities are much more important than the country of nationality. In general terms, Eastern Europeans do have a similar cultural background that is decidedly different than ours in the West. Physically, the “typical” girl from Eastern Europe is thought to possess fair skin and light green or blue eyes, but you’ll find just as many with jet-black hair and tanned, olive-colored skin. The reasons behind this are historical: the Russian empire, including much of today’s Eastern Europe, covered two continents and benefited from the intermingling genetics between the conqueror and the conquered. The result is an astounding number of gorgeous ladies like nowhere else in the world.
I received another question that we’ll just call silly, asking why men love Eastern European women in the first place! The only man I can imagine asking this question has never met a Russian, Ukrainian, Lithuanian or any other Eastern European girl! I know I’m not alone in seeing the beauty of Eastern European girls. They are attractive to men in all the right, feminine ways. Typically, Russian women have great figures. They have sweet and elegant personalities, full of charm and intelligence. Above all, they are known for being loyal girlfriends and wives.
Let’s go into a bit more detail about Russian women and other Eastern European ladies. Compared with the West, the women are more educated, usually completing one or two university degrees. The most common studies seem to be art and music, as well as languages and finance. Eastern European girls are also more polite, and often more sympathetic and generous than their American counterparts. These sorts of values are taught both at home and at school, and sadly have been lost here in the West. Luckily for us, because of realities of life and love in Eastern Europe, some amazing women are happy to meet a kind and interesting man from countries other than their own.
Certainly, the information you read here on this blog applies to the gorgeous women of all these countries! But just remember that each girl is her own woman.
