I recently saw an article where Alec Baldwin had been on the David Letterman show and was asked about haviing more children. He said something to the degress that “maybe he should find a Filipina or Russian mail order bride to expand his family and have more children”. Apparently this didn’t go over to big in the Philippines and some officials made some comments to the effect “he would like to hit him in the head”.

The article went on to say their are laws in the Philippines against mail order bride agencies. They couldn’t be too strict because companies are offering “romance tours” to the Philippines now. The fact is much of the income for the Filipino people comes from these brides working over seas and sending money home to their families. Many families would have far less if not for the money sent to them.

I don’t see a thing wrong with seearching for love in another country as long as you are willing to travel to that country and meet the family of the woman you are interested in. Spend some time and get to know the girl and her to know you!

These women are now more protected thanks to the IMBRA law since vital information has to be disclosed before you can bring a bride back to the USA. Of course they may not be protected if they choose an Australian man. I’m not sure about the laws in other countries.
